Lixao ("big garbage dump") is the second-largest slum in Brasilia and
the one with the most debilitating critical condition in the capital
of the country. This dumping ground is both a source of income as well as
a source of contamination and diseases for hundreds of families and children.
Angels for Brazil aims to help 95 children in Lixao this year.

The approved recipient school for 2008 is a small inland school serving the poorest children of the area,
about 360 kilometers from Brazil's capital. Their "dream" is a copier machine!
Continuing with our tradition, Angels For Brazil will take American Plastic
Surgeons to conduct reconstructive surgeries on disvantage children and
adults deformed by birth or burning where they will work round the
clock for 2 weeks! Local doctors assist. Donate your miles now for this mission!
Surgeons treated more than 70 patients during their
1995 visit to Recife. Doctors often worked
shoulder-to-shoulder in the operating rooms.
